Swabha Swayamdipta
Gabilan Assitant Professor • USC Viterbi CS • USC NLP

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, where I lead the DILL Lab 🌿. My research interests broadly span Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, where I study the estimation of dataset quality, the (semi-)automatic collection of impactful data, as well as evaluating how human biases affect dataset construction and model decisions.
Previously, I was a postdoctoral investigator at the Allen Institute for AI, where I worked with Yejin Choi. I obtained my PhD from Carnegie Mellon University 🌉, where I was advised by Noah Smith and Chris Dyer, during most of which I was a visiting student at UW 🌲. I was a Masters student at Columbia University 🗽, and an undergrad at NIT Calicut 🥥.

I will be teaching CSCI 499: LMs in NLP in Fall 2023.
